**AMENDED REVIEW** I changed my star rating from 1 to 4 stars, because the same day I posted the original review, my customer care person I had been emailing with trying to fix this just emailed me back and said they could give me a refund after all. I very much appreciate them finally agreeing to make this right for me. Next time I rent from Hertz SMF, I'll be sure to leave a 5 star review if all goes well from start to finish. The lesson learned: check the receipt they give you when you pick up the car and make sure the per day charge is accurate. Also, confirm that you are picking up the correct car for what you reserved because they won't mention it when you check out the car. These are Hertz-specific. With any car, be sure to take pictures of the entire car, inside and out, before you leave the rental facility, and again after you check it in. Take a picture of the gas gauge before and after as well. Take a screen shot of your confirmed reservation when you make it. All this helps in any dispute, and eventually there will be a problem if you rent a lot of cars. Hope this helps someone! This is the second time in a month I've rented from Hertz. The first time they charged me for gas when I returned full. After back and forth with customer service, they corrected. However this last time, I booked 5 days, 3 of which I paid for with Hertz points. The rental rate when I booked was about $45/day. They charged my card for the remaining 2 days at $172/day. This was a total bait and switch scam. They also said I took the Medium Sedan, instead of the Large Sedan when I picked up, and that's why it was more. On their website, the Median is around 45 and the Large is about 43/day. I don't even know if they had a Large Sedan available - I was just told "take any car from the President's Circle." I have never had the rate adjusted when the car I pick up is not the exact car I rented, because usually they don't have the exact car I rented. If they want you to take a certain car, then they shouldn't say, "Take any car" and instead instruct you to a space. Back to Budget I go.

There was a miscommunication on the type of vehicle I rented, and I worked with Thai who went above and beyond to help me get into the right vehicle. Can’t tell you how important that was since I was visiting to help my Dad who’s fighting cancer and has trouble getting in and out of certain types of vehicles.

I see a lot of bad reviews on here but I have to say I had a wonderful experience. I booked in advance but my flight was delayed and they were closed when I landed but they were able to accommodate me the next morning. The service was extremely fast and very friendly. My trip had been a nightmare so far and getting the rental car stuff sorted was just incredible and took a huge weight off of me. I came in on Mothers Day weekend and despite the business I got in while there was no line and they got me taken care of super quick. Erick and Pawan were amazing!!!
