Is there a minimum age for participation in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards?

Minimum age to join Hertz Gold Plus Rewards is 21 and customers under the age of 25 may be subject to a Young Driver’s Surcharge depending on the location and car group selected.

Will I be charged for Gold Plus Rewards membership?

No. There is no fee for a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership.

Redeeming Points
How do I redeem my points for free rental days?

To redeem points and reserve a car online, log in to hertz.co.uk and make a reservation. Check the box that reads, “Use my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points.” If your itinerary qualifies for a reward, you’ll see your options on the “Review and Book” page.

Am I responsible for any charges when I redeem my Gold Plus Rewards® Points for rental days?

Yes. When you redeem points for rentals, the points apply to the base rental price. You are responsible for any additional costs associated with your reward rental which may include governmental surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, Fuel Purchase Option, refuelling, excess mileage charge, insurance and optional items. Please note these additional charges vary based on many factors and may exceed the base price of your rental.

Where can I redeem points?

Redeem Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Will my points be returned if I cancel my reservation?

If a reservation which was booked using points is cancelled more than 24 hours before the pickup time, the following points will be forfeited: If a Gold member, 50% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a Five Star member, 25% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a President’s Circle member, all points will be returned to the members account. If the member cancels their reservation less than 24 hours prior to the time of pick-up or does not cancel it at all and the rental vehicle is not picked up on the rental date, all the points used toward the rental amount will be forfeited, regardless of the member’s tier status.

How can I earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

You must be a member of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® to earn points and only members with an address in the following countries may participate:

How can I earn points on all my rentals?

To earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points automatically on all your qualified rentals, update your member profile:

  1. Log in at hertz.co.uk
  2. At the top navigation bar, click on "My account," and then "My Profile."
  3. Click “Edit” under “Membership Details.” Then check the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® box and click “Update.”

If reserving by phone, tell the Hertz representative you would like to start earning Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points.

Where can I earn points?

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points can be earned at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas USVI, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Spain (with the exception of Balearic and Canary Islands), Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Can I earn frequent traveller miles / points and Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

No, if you choose to enter a frequent traveller program and number you will not earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points.

Can I earn bonus/promotional credit for past rentals?

Yes, if your qualifying rental included the correct promotion code and/or CDP number and the rental occurred in the past six months and qualified for the promotion.

How do I receive points for past rentals?

To request retroactive credit for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points, log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on hertz.co.uk. Then click “My Account,” followed by “Use My Points.” Click the “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.

How will I know if I received my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® bonus points on a recent rental?

To check your point balance online, log in to your account on hertz.co.uk. Your total balance will display next to the “Use My Gold Plus Points” link at the top of the page. For details, click “Rewards Account Activity.”

Why didn’t I receive points for my rental?

Some of your rentals may not be eligible to receive Gold Plus Rewards points. Click here to see the list of countries and locations that do not award Gold Plus Rewards points.

Expiring Points
Do my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points expire?

Points do not expire if you have a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® rental activity in the prior 12 months. Activity means a Gold Plus Rewards® point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. A Gold Plus Rewards point may only be earned or redeemed on a completed rental. Making a reservation or points transfer to a partner company does not count as rental activity.

Points Balance and Qualifications

Gold Plus Rewards points have no cash value. Points will expire after 12 months of no rental activity. If you cancel or terminate your Gold Plus Rewards membership, Hertz believes any of your rental activity to be fraudulent, or you are prohibited from future rentals with Hertz, Hertz will remove and you will forfeit your Gold Plus Rewards balance without any alternate compensation.

How can I get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points balance?

Log in to your account on hertz.co.uk homepage and click “My Account.” Your total balance will display next to the “Use My Gold Plus Points” link at the top of the page. For details, click “Rewards Account Activity.”

What if I’m missing Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

If you believe you are missing any points, you can request a retroactive credit up to six months from the rental return as long as you were a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member at the time the rental occurred.

AnyDay Reward vs. Standard Reward
What is the difference between AnyDay Rewards and Standard Rewards?

AnyDay Rewards are not subject to blackout periods and may be used during the busiest travel periods. Standard Rewards are available during all but the busiest travel periods and require fewer points to redeem than AnyDay Rewards.

Transferring Points
Can I Transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points?

Points can be transferred to a spouse or domestic partner, as long as he/she is a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member. There is no limit to the number of times points are transferred to a spouse or domestic partner or the amount of points being transferred as long as the points are available in the member’s account. In the United Kingdom, France, Ireland and Spain please call 087084488444; German call 01806 33 35 35; Italy 199116611; Benelux 02 726-4950, and ask for a transfer of points.

What if my spouse or domestic partner is not a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member?

The spouse/domestic partner should sign up for a FREE Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® membership via hertz.co.uk. Once completed, you must wait 48 hours before calling the Awards Desk to transfer points. Transferring of points cannot be done without waiting the 48 hours.

When will the points show up in the spouse/domestic partner’s account?

If both memberships are at least 72 hours old, the transferred points are viewable on hertz.co.uk within 24 hours of transfer. However, a Sales Specialist is able to see the transfer of points that same day and will be able to apply the points to a future reservation. The Awards Desk will transfer you to the Sales area to book the reservation.

Account Information
How can I view my Account Statements?

Account statements are available online:

  1. Log in at hertz.co.uk
  2. At the top navigation, select “My Account”, followed by “Rewards Account Activity”
  3. Here you will find your Gold Plus Rewards® points activity for the current month, plus the previous 24 months of points activity or from your original join date.
What is the Time Frame for Calculating Account Information on my Account Summary?

Information on your account reflects activity through the end of the month prior to when you receive the e-mail. Base points earned from rentals are updated within four days after your last completed rental. For the most current data and for up-to-date information on your account, log in at hertz.co.uk, and go to “My Account”.

What is my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points Balance on my Account Summary?

The points balance on your account summary shows the unexpired number of Gold Plus Rewards points that are currently available on your account for redemption as of the end of the prior month.

For example:

- You need 800 points to redeem for a reward weekend rental day.
- You need 900 points to redeem for a reward weekday rental.

Remember, when you redeem points for rentals, the points apply to the base rental price. You are responsible for any additional costs associated with your reward rental which may include governmental surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, Fuel Purchase Option, refuelling, excess mileage charge, insurance and optional items. Please note these additional charges vary based on many factors and may exceed the base price of your rental.

If there is a discrepancy in the rewards total, what can I do?

If you checked your Points status online, please remember that total points are accurate as of four days after your last completed rental. If you believe you are missing any points, you can request a retroactive credit up to six months from the rental return. You must log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on the hertz.co.uk home page and click on “My Account” in the top navigation bar, followed by “Use My Points”. Click on the “Use My Points” link and on the next page click “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.

Five Star®
How do I earn Five Star status?

To earn Hertz Five Star status, one of the following must be met within the specified 12-month period

  • 10 rentals or $2,000 in car rental spend excluding taxes
What are the benefits of Five Star® status?

On top of the benefits granted to Gold members, Five Star members are entitled to:

  • One-car-class upgrades at participating locations (subject to availability) to a full-size class vehicle (maximum); not valid on rentals over 28 days nor Hertz Premium, Hertz Collections, Local Collection (e.g. Selezione Italia, British Collection, Voyage à la Française, American Collection…) vehicles.
    Subject to vehicle availability, one-car-class upgrade is offered at participating Hertz locations in the U.S., Canada, Namibia, South Africa and participating airport locations in Europe (Brussels, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Helsinki, Oslo, Rovaniemi, Turku, Paris Orly, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse, Lyon, Bordeaux, Athens, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Dublin, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Rome Fiumicino, Amsterdam, Vienna, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Stockholm, Goteborg, Geneva and Zurich) with a 48-hour advance reservation.
