What is Hertz One?

Hertz One is a one way rental offer. One way rentals are when you pick up the vehicle in one locations and return it to another. Hertz One revolves around us offering one way rentals at a cost of only 1 euro!

Why are we doing this?

A big challenge for us is moving our vehicles to where they need to be for our customers. With Hertz One, we hope that by offering these one way journeys, we will deliver great value rentals to our customers, as well as making sure that our cars are always where they need to be. A so called win-win!

What routes are available for 1 euro?

We only have select routes available across France, however over time we will look to add new routes. Keep an eye on the website to see when new routes become available. Search for routes on the Hertz One micro-site homepage to see if one suits you!

Booking Your Journey

What vehicles are available to rent with Hertz One?

We have three vehicle groups for these one euro journeys; vehicles where we only guarantee 4 seats and a manual transmission, more specific vehicles where we can give you more detail around what you will be making your journey in (E.g. the exact number of seats and luggage room), and Vans of various sizes.

How do I book a Hertz One journey?

You can only take advantage of these 1 euro rentals by booking through the Hertz One micro-site. You are not able to take advantage of this offer through the main Hertz booking process or by going through our call centre.

What happens once I confirm my booking online?

Once you have confirmed your booking, you will receive a confirmation email from us. This will include all the necessary information regarding your rental including; the type of vehicle you have reserved, the location, dates and times of your rental, the reservation number and what you will need to bring on the day.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

If you need to cancel your booking, you will need to contact our customer care centre to do so. The standard Hertz cancellation fees and policies applies. If you wish to cancel, please contact the call centre on the following number (0033) 01 41 91 95 25 (Hours of Operation : Mon-Sun 8h00-23h00).

Can I amend the date and time of my booking?

Because these one way rentals are only available for very specific times frames, once you have booked a Hertz One journey you cannot amend the date and time of your booking. If you need to cancel your booking you can do so by contacting our call centre on (0033) 01 41 91 95 25 (Hours of Operation : Mon-Sun 8h00-23h00).

What are the rental restrictions?

For every journey you will have a pick up and drop off time, much like any normal rental. You will also have a mileage allowance for your journey.

What is a mileage allowance?

This is the distance that we allow you to travel while you are on your Hertz One journey. We have calculated our allowance to give you more than enough mileage to get to your drop-off location.

What insurance is included in my journey?

With all journeys we include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP). Excess applies for these insurances. For more information on these insurance levels please refer to our standard terms and conditions that can be found throughout the Hertz One booking process.

What if I want to include additional insurance?

Exactly like a normal rental, you can opt for the excess waiver SuperCover to complement insurances that are already included. Additional chargers apply. Please refer to our terms and conditions that are throughout the Hertz One booking process, or ask at the Hertz counter on the day of your rental if you are interested in opting for SuperCover.

Can I add another driver to the rental agreement, or can I opt for other Hertz extras to make the journey easier for me?

Much like adding additional insurance to your rental, you can also opt for other ancillary products like adding another driver to your rental agreement. Additional charges apply. What criteria do I need to meet to take advantage of one of these journeys?

You must be 21 or over to rent a Hertz One vehicle. You must also qualify under our standard eligibility rules. If you are aged between 21 and 25 we normally charge a young driver surcharge, however for Hertz One we have waived this fee to keep the cost to you at 1 euro. What do I need to take to the Hertz location when I pick up my vehicle?

You will need to bring a valid form of photo identification, a valid driver’s license and an appropriate form of payment. For more information, please refer to our standard terms and conditions that are throughout the Hertz One booking process or your confirmation email.

Is Fuel included in my journey?

Hertz rates do not include fuel. Hertz vehicles should be provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel, or a local refuelling charge will apply. For convenience, you may purchase a full tank of fuel from Hertz at the time of rental, at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations. This product is called Fuel Purchase Option (FPO). This method eliminates the need for you to refill the tank before returning. Please be aware that any unused fuel at the end of your journey will not be refunded. Please check the availability of FPO at the time of vehicle pick-up.

How does the Hertz One rental process differ from a normal Hertz rental?

When you arrive for your journey, you will not notice any real difference between what you would normally experience if you were paying for a full price Hertz rental. The only major difference is that you will be arriving without the knowledge of exactly what car you will be driving. I.e. you won’t be aware of the make or model.

What is the penalty if I return my car late?

If you return the car more than 29 minutes late, you will be charged for an extra day at the usual rate for the vehicle that you have rented.

Who can I contact in the event of an invoicing issue or any other issue after my journey has taken place?
